Real Life on the Island
A neighboring family started from scratch 30 years ago, built a home, created systems for heating, lighting and electricity, raised children and still strive for self-sufficiency. In the process they've had adventures, gained knowledge and developed an island philosophy they love to share.
Your visit to their homestead can be a general ramble and garden graze or can be customised to focus on a special area of interest, including:
| Bread making and woodstove cookery | Growing, preparing, using herbs |
| Rustic driftwood furniture making | Off-the-grid electricity generation |
Food preservation( jams, pickles, canning, drying, etc.) |
